Friday March 19, 2005 we
leave the Yacht Club of
Cebu and sail to the north to visit two small
shipyards in Carmen bay Danau. With 'Amy',
the banca of a dive company on Malapascua
island,
we dive in the early morning to see 'thresher sharks'
and later on the day we explore the large variety of underwater sealife
around the Gato island. Riceterraces we find on a
tour over Biliram island.
Then we make stop-overs of one of two days on the several small islands
on our trip to the north.
In Donsol on southeast Luzon
we snorkel with 'whalesharks', an unique
experience because Donsol is one of the few
places on the world where 'whalesharks' have been reported.
We need an overnighter to enter the Romblon islands in daylight.
Just outside Romblon Town we have a look around in a big marble workshop
where 35 men and women find a job.
In the big and deep Looc Bay on Tablas Island there is a
beautiful and protected Reef. From Tablas
we cross over to Mindoro island.
On the westcoast is Apo Reef
where we intend to make some dives. The first week of May we hope to
arrive in the beautiful yachtclub of Puerto
Galera on the north side of Mindoro Island.
