Starting November 14 we sail and motor along the
southwest coast of Luzon Island to Subic Bay. November 21-25
'Alexandra' is in a cradle on the shipyard of Watercraft Venture Corp.
for new anti-fouling paint.
November 29 we travel by bus to Manila to meet an
ex-colleague of Hans at the airport. He has arranged a few days off
between two business appointments in SE Asia.
Tuesday night and Wednesday we do a small sight-seeing in Manila
followed by a bus trip back to Subic Bay. From the
Yacht Club it's a 15 minutes walk to the gate of the Subic Freeport Zone
and there we take a 'jeepney' to Olongapo public market. We do scuba
diving on two Japanese wrecks in the Bay, sail on 'Alexandra', snorkel at Grande Island and discover two new local
restaurants.
After the departure of our guest we do extended
shopping and complete the jobs on board. The waiting is for favourable
winds to Hongkong, we hope we are not too late to cross the South China
Sea for this season.
