In Koror we
try to experience something of the
the culture of Palau. The colourful facades of the
traditional Bai
(meeting-house)
is replicated in the modern architecture of
the Parliament house, banks,
hotels and supermarkets. The shop of
the
jail
sells the most beautiful woodcarvings.
Mid January we weigh the anchor and start the exploration of the
southern lagoon
of Palau. Steep rocks with
abundant
growth and lots of small bays
to drop the anchor and
discover the surroundings by canoe or dinghy.
