Papua New Guinea - Louisiades Islands
On Sunday 15 August 2004 we have reached the Louisiades
archipelago. We anchor in the lee of Duchateau Island. Almost everyday
is a sunny one, around 15-20 knots SE wind. The Louisiades islands are a tropical
paradise: white beaches, palm trees and at lot of friendly locals. White
men are 'dimdim's'. Everybody wants to trade fresh fruit and vegetables
for fishing-hooks, fishing-line, needles and
tread, soap, exercise books and pencils or a T-shirt.
